Highlights:
• Karin’s poetry reading at Chellis House; Happy Birthday, Karin!

• General activity levels – quiet days, busy evenings; busy mid-term/pre-break activity; quiet on Sunday at Main
• All went smoothly with schedules during DST change
• Mill Circ/Innovative ILS enhancement voting process underway – III enhancement ballots
• Planning Circ Spring break lunch
• Monthly Circ meeting
• Student staffing and schedules – Spring break sign-up going well at Main; Summer interviewing to commence week after Spring break; meeting with Circ/Res/ILL/Stacks to discuss summer student employment; met with three of my students so far about summer work at Armstrong – no commitments yet; if any positions are open the Monday after break, I’ll post w SEO; all set for Spring break with all shifts filled for the week at Arms; all set for Spring break with all shifts filled for the week; lots of student subbing going on; stress finding subs this week with mid-term activity
• Circ staffing – ongoing discussion on how to integrate future roles into current workflow/responsibilities
• Reserves – Researching copyright/reserve-related conferences/webinars to attend in the spring. Signed up for a webinar via CCC on 4/27; waiting to hear back from BLSE office re: reserves planning for summer; only ONE overdue recalled book for reserve – almost there!
• Armstrong – Activity level up; ILL requesting steady, Reserves still coming in
• Music – Shifted browsing CD collection; are now CD 19,100 and up.
• Weekend – Routine weekend, but much busier in earlier hours-through 7/8pm; steady desk activity with Reserves, DVD’s and book returns; swept the 3rd and 2nd floors on both Friday and Sat.
• Gate Count Week going well (foreshadowing of ALL-STATS week?)
• Finalizing Circ goals
• Stacks – holding steady; documentation of processes ongoing
• Loaner equipment – someone borrowed a laptop lock today! A lot of overdue equipment finally came back this week; lockers in high demand (currently all being used or in repair); following up on Equipment weeding with various interested parties, coordinating fac/staff Dell replacements with HD; requests for Student Symposium in April
• Digital Archives Team – focused research on best practices for digitization
• Curricular Technology Team – ran first of two CT Team focus groups on classroom discussion (2 faculty attended)
• Web Team – usability test planning
• PFDP meetings underway; 5 done
• RefWorks training
• User documentation about blocks, policy/procedures about overdues etc.
• Working on workgroup phone tree for emergencies and unscheduled closings

Challenges
• Film screenings – incident of media in poor condition for film screening; bookings placed on Ilsley DVD’s; other issues with films not on reserve or in collections
• Missing reserve book at Main on Sunday
• Misshelved reserve items — causing some scrambling and searching
• Brief period of keyboard failures on the two front computers
• Lots of questions re: borrowing media items on day of screening; policy reminder posted on Circ and LIS blogs
• Transitions to new roles while still responsible for current role
• Circ student printing behind the desk lessened but not gone
• PC FW drive reimaging program broken
• Main Library lights not adjusted for daylight savings time
• Library carrel squatting
• Billing issues; long lost and overdue materials
• Green concerns about eres printing; ripple effect of print quotas on Eres?
