Elin brought “Hurray – thanks for all your good work” cake to celebrate the end of the semester
ILL closed; NExpress open – will process when we return in January
Jan Circ meeting – review staff schedules; the “what can we not do” list
Reserves update – step-by-step review of tasks/processes to evaluate for effectiveness; processing at all branches; FA break-down and WT prep; stats done; materials “removed” from Res; item notes removed; personal copies off; Browsing DVD records changed back; de-dotting and de-stickering in full swing; faculty picking up own reserves – really helpful and saved considerable staff time; Dan and Nancy covering Main reserves in Kellam’s absence
Surprise! There is a front bookdrop at Main Circ that needs to get checked regularly throughout the day and at opening (some in the room admitted to checking it frequently; others admitted to not being aware of its existence)
Someone else admitted to being obsessed with wrapping equipment cords
Arms hiring student for WT
Submit time early; proxy in place for time approval
Check bookdrops front and back on Sunday 1/3
Circ and Res mailboxes – we will set Out of Office auto-replies during closed time period
Hours have been posted – please check for accuracy
Circ goals – self-service work-group goal and student employment, SLA’s, and baseline knowledge area goals will also inform our work; discussed idea of using webform “quiz” to inventory skills
Innovative options for self-service bookings are being researched
NExpress/ILL carts – scan at Main – processing inconsistent; errors on holdshelf
