AV in Room 105

From Dean:

The A/V switcher in the rack in Library 105 appears to have an intermittent problem causing the recent calls for assistance with a complaint of no image will project.
To ensure that computer projection is always available, we have made wiring changes to the system in Library 105.

–Currently, the installed desktop computer is the only device that will create an image to be projected. If you are planning on using DVD, you must use the desktop computer. There will be no VHS projection available.
–If you are planning on using a laptop, you must contact one of the Media Services staff through the Helpdesk to obtain a VGA cable with audio and instructions on how to connect the cable–the cable from the floorbox beneath the table has been removed.

Once the new switcher is installed and the system has been reprogrammed, all will be back in order.

Stay tuned!

Extending loans on equipment during Break

As we near the start of Spring Break, you will likely field requests for loan period extensions on equipment. Students, please refer these requests to a supervisor.  Supervisors, please use your discretion to extend loans through the break week. It’s always good to remind borrowers of their responsibility for the care and safe-keeping of equipment, especially if it will be used far and wide during the break.

Equipment at Armstrong – missing parts.

I’m writing this to remind all students to check all equipment returns carefully. Last week we had a projector returned and it was not properly checked in, as the power cord was missing. Since the cord is missing we were not able to check out the projector. IT IS YOUR responsibility as a circulation employee to carefully check all returns.
