Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
• Main – study and computing space in high demand, especially in evenings and on weekends
• Planning and scheduling for vacations/schedule gaps in August
• Equipment – Finished first full draft of Borrowing Equipment page: http://www.middlebury.edu/academics/lis/help/borrow/equipment/ Includes loan period info, quick tips, links to manuals and MIDCAT availability
• Student budget
• Armstrong – Processed and sent out a large shipment of (backlogged) journals; Summer Research Symposium will be taking place this Friday in the Great Hall – lots of poster printing going on in 209; updated Reference shelves have new signage, thanks to Carrie and our student staff; continuous printing/lab support to LS
• Armstrong – As of this moment ALL printers are operating – hurray!
• Main – locker sweep
• Large number of retrieval requests – LS and BLSE; activity peaking
• Music – quiet!
• Wiki and blog workshop; wiki development
• VCAL guest updates to web pages
• Conferences – Annual ILL Meeting in Norwich;
Challenges:
• Increased error rate – missing; not on hold shelf; mis-shelved; claims returned; entering borrower records
• Issue of LS students without College IDs continues
• Increased stress and peak activity for users
• Database issues: approx. 200 BL and DML borrowers in system without email
• Self- check – still freezing user accounts; currently turned off while awaiting Mill software patch
• Printer breakdowns
• Ariel still down – requiring workaround for ILL processing at Arm
• Millennium quirks
• Equipment – All digital voice recorders and iPods/iTalks checked out at every branch; high demand for camcorders/tripods and FS laptops
• Materials flow communication/coordination – big wave of auction catalogs processed without coordinating with stacks
