Chellis House

Chellis House, The Women’s Resource Center serves as an informational, educational and cultural resource for the students, staff and faculty at Middlebury College. The May Belle Chellis Resource Center is located in Chellis House (behind Proctor).

Organizations that use the space for meetings, workshops and social activities include Women of Color (WOC), Feminist Action at Middlebury (FAM) It Happens Here, and the Sister-to-Sister Program.

The Resource Center also contains a diverse collection of books relating to gender studies in the Alison Fraker Library. Besides holding an important collection of resources, the library is open to any student and offers a quiet place to study. The Center has a living room, dining room and kitchen and is available to any students looking for an alternate place to study, chat, or have coffee with friends.

By serving as an educational and cultural resource, Chellis House aims to provide a forum for the advancement of women’s and gender issues at Middlebury College.
