Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  •  Learn the science of beer as the Quality Assurance Technician at Otter Creek Brewing Company in Middlebury!  (Deadline: 4/6)
  • As the summer Solar PV Development Intern for  Ecogy Solar, a developer and financier of distributed-generation PV solar systems, you will learn about sales, research, due diligence, legal analysis, financial modeling, and more. Provided by a Midd Alum! (Deadline: 4/15)
  • Come work for a family-owned prepared food company based in Middlebury focused on the expanding organic, gluten-free, premium health food marketplace.  As the Marketing and Production Co-Manager of Heart to Hearth LLC, you’ll learn about marketing initiatives, product development, and production, and help us enhance our business model.  (Deadline: 5/15)

  • Use your stellar communications skills and multi-media know-how as the Development and Communications Intern to support the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, which was founded to preserve and protect the natural integrity of the state’s 54 peaks exceeding 14,000 feet—the “Fourteeners”—through active stewardship and public education. Offered through CLIMB (Deadline: 3/31)
  • Gain hands-on experience in organic gardening, dairy operations, cheese making, and animal care, and then develop a farm based-lesson plan and lead public education activities or a summer camp program as the Farm-Based Education Fellow at Shelburne Farms. (Deadline: 4/4)
  • Two Conservation Internships available with the Nature Conservancy on Nantucket, learning about land management and restoration. Apply now! (Deadline: 4/4)

  • Stop global warming, stand up against powerful corporations, and fight for equality as the Field Manager or Field Staff, Summer Position at Fund for Public Interest Group. (Deadline: 4/9)
  • If you’re a would-be entrepreneur but you also dream about fly fishing when you’re not on the river, maybe you should apply to be the Associate Business Manager for Cheeky Fly Fishing. Deadline: 4/15)
  • As a U.S.PIRG Fellow with US Public Interest Research Group (US PIRG), you will receive the training you need to be public interest advocates and organizers. You will recruit and train activists, research problems, find practical solutions, demonstrate public support through media events, and lobby decision makers. (Deadline: 4/26)

  • Tues, April 1 & Wed, April 2, 9 am-6 pm Fund for Public Interest Group Information Table Come learn about this national non-profit organization that works to build support for progressive organizations across the country that seeks individuals with a passion for social change to fill their field manager positions across the country. (McCullough Grille Foyer)
  • Tues, April 1, 10 am-6:30 pm Fund for Public Interest Group Information Sessions and Interviews Learn about and interview for positions with this national non-profit organization that works to build support for progressive organizations across the country.  Information sessions will take place at 10 am, & 12, 4 and 6 pm followed by individual interviews.  (Coltrane Lounge, Adirondack House)
  • Tues, April 1 8-9 pm Student Investment Committee Meeting: All first and second year students with an interest in finance are invited to join John Greenwood, Advisory Director at Morgan Stanley. John will discuss internships, finance as a career field, and various ways for Middlebury students to get involved with Morgan Stanley. (Axinn 229)

  • Wed, April 2, 12:15-1:30 pm Career Conversation: Human Rights and Amnesty International Come hear Sabine Gagnier of Amnesty International discuss her career in human rights.  (Abernethy Room, Axinn)
  • Fri, April 4, 18, 25 late mornings  CCI’s Career Action Crash Course will help you ramp up your planning for “life after Midd”  in just three sessions. Get a firm handle on what you want and how to network and interview to get it.  (Deadline to submit a resume and an application letter 4/2).

CCI Reminders and Related Notices:

  • Got a phone interview coming up?  Need a quiet, private space?  You can reserve an interview room at CCI that comes with a secure landline.  Call 443-1500 to reserve your space.
  • Seniors: Ramp up your approach to “life after Midd” with CCI’s Career Action Crash Course and in three sessions, get a firm handle on what you want and how to network and interview to get it. We meet late mornings on April 4, 18 and 25. (Deadline to submit a resume and an application letter 4/2).
  • Internship Funding applications are now online! If you find an unpaid summer internship, you can apply for funding through CCI to cover costs such as transportation, food, housing etc. Visit go/summer funding for full details. (Applications due: 4/6)
  • CCI has listings of the 2013 Summer Internships that Middlebury students participated in. Check them out for ideas and feel free to contact the student interns for additional information.

  • If you are considering applying for a Fulbright, Watson, or British Scholarship in fall 2014, please note: Preliminary applications due by Monday, April 21, 2014.
