Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  • As the Middlebury FoodWorks Patricia Hannaford Career Center Summer Farm Intern, you will do everything from take care of animals to help  revise curriculum for the largest diversified high school agriculture and food system program in Vermont. (Deadline: 4/6)
  • Combine your interest in business with your passion to work for environmental causes by demonstrating the return on investment for the 1100 businesses worldwide who give 1% of their profits to further environmental causes as the Business Case and Partnernships Intern  for 1% for the Planet. (Deadline: 4/15)

  • Three great positions with the Northeast Organic Farming Association! The Organic Garden Intern will plant, care for, and harvest food from the NOFA garden and coordinate activities; the Organic Certification Marketing Intern will work to geospatially locate certified organic farm fields in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties; and the Direct Marketing Intern will promote farmers’ markets and CSAs statewide and organize the 2014 National Farmers’ Market Week events. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • FoodWorks position, researching and archiving a famous author’s works! The Wendell Berry Center Archivist and (Possible) CSA Intern will help organize and archive the Wendell Berry agricultural library, as well as his related hand written manuscripts, letters, and journals. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Many Middkids have loved their internships with the NYC Parks Department, which manages 14% of the land in New York City; they offer internships related to environmental stewardship, marketing, government, events & programming, and more! Check out their Environment and Conservation Internships or the Programming, Education, and Administrative Internships. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • The Northeast Organic Farming Association seeks a VT FEED/School Nutrition Association-VT Intern to develop marketing materials that promote local foods in school meal programs and to assist in planning and conducting farm to school workshops at the Child Nutrition Programs Summer Institute. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Five internships spanning spectrum from energy to business to IT at Genentech, a biotechnology company using human genetic information to develop novel medicines for serious and life-threatening diseases. Internships include: Information Technology, Green BioPharma Engineering, Global Pharma Procurement, Energy Management, and Business Process & Operational Excellence. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Deadline extended!  If conservation is your passion, spend your summer as the Suburban Ecology Conservation Intern with the Mianus River Gorge Preserve working on a variety of projects including wildlife monitoring, non-native species management and GIS applications. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • What is an apothecary garden? How do you cultivate medicinal mushrooms, and which wild herbs are the best for tinctures, oils, salves and teas? You’ll learn this and more as the Herbal Intern at Spring Mountain Herbs of Vermont in Starksboro! (Deadline: 3/24)
  • If you care about Vermont farmers, this may be your ticket to make a difference as the Grassroots Organizing Interns or the Outreach Intern for Rural Vermont, which works to create economic justice for Vermont farmers through education, grassroots organizing and advocacy. (Deadline: 3/24)

What’s New in JOBS:

  • Seniors: Ramp up your approach to “life after Midd” with CCI’s Career Action Crash Course and in three sessions, get a firm handle on what you want and how to network and interview to get it.  We meet late mornings on April 4, 18 and 25. (Deadline to submit a resume and an application letter 4/2)
  • Stop global warming, stand up against powerful corporations, and fight for equality as the Field Manager or Field Staff, Summer Position at Fund for Public Interest Group. (Deadline: 4/9)

  • Mon, March 24, 1:30-5:00 pm  Spring Job Fair in Burlington Over 80 employers will be represented.  This is a great opportunity.  RSVP in MOJO.  Free van transportation available from CCI.  (Location: Champlain College in Burlington)

  • Internship Funding applications are now online! If you find an unpaid summer internship, you can apply for funding through CCI to cover costs such as transportation, food, housing etc. Visit go/summer funding for full details. (Applications due: 4/6)
