Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  • Late-breaking FoodWorks position, researching and archiving a famous author’s works!   The Wendell Berry Center Archivist and (Possible) CSA Intern will help organize and archive the Wendell Berry agricultural library, as well as his related hand written manuscripts, letters, and journals.  (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Many Middkids have loved their internships with the NYC Parks Department, which manages 14% of the land in New York City; they offer internships related to environmental stewardship, marketing, government, events & programming, and more!  Check out their Environment and Conservation Internships or the Programming, Education, and Administrative Internships. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • The Northeast Organic Farming Association seeks a VT FEED/School Nutrition Association-VT Intern to develop marketing materials that  promote local foods in school meal programs and to assist in planning and conducting farm to school workshops at the Child Nutrition Programs Summer Institute. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Five internships spanning spectrum from energy to business to IT at Genentech, a biotechnology company using human genetic information to develop novel medicines for serious and life-threatening diseases. Internships include: Information Technology, Green BioPharma Engineering, Global Pharma Procurement, Energy Management, and Business Process & Operational Excellence. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • What is an apothecary garden? How do you cultivate medicinal mushrooms, and which wild herbs are the best for  tinctures, oils, salves and teas?  You’ll learn this and more as the Herbal Intern at Spring Mountain Herbs of Vermont in Starksboro!  (Deadline: 3/24)
  • se your stellar communications skills and multi-media know-how as the Development and Communications Intern to support the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, which was founded to preserve and protect the natural integrity of the state’s 54 peaks exceeding 14,000 feet—the “Fourteeners”—through active stewardship and public education. Offered through CLIMB (Deadline: 3/31)
  • Gain hands-on experience in organic gardening, dairy operations, cheese making, and animal care, and then develop a farm based-lesson plan and lead public education activities or a summer camp program as the Farm-Based Education Fellow  at Shelburne Farms. (Deadline: 4/4)
  • Two Conservation Internships available with the Nature Conservancy on Nantucket, learning about land management and restoration.  Apply now!  (Deadline: 4/4)
  • Fascinating position combining business and the environment!  As the Inovus Solar Sales & Marketing Intern at Mack Molding, research and develop a sales and marketing strategy to sell solar-powered light poles into the college/university market. Offered by a Midd alum! (Deadline: 4/15)

  • A few of the  Middlebury Foodworks internship deadlines have been extended.  Search MOJO for “Foodworks”. (Deadline: 3/16)
  • What do you get when you combine microenterprise, farming, and empowerment of Latina women? Adelante Mujeres is the organization you want work for this summer! Apply to be the Organic Food Systems Intern or the Food Entrepreneurship Intern . (Deadline: 3/16)
  • If you believe in green, love to look things up on the internet, and are fun to be with, join Practically Green this summer as a Sales/Marketing/Client Success Intern. (Deadline: 3/16)
  • Architecture major with strong technical skills and an interest in green buildings? Here you go! Take on this LEED Residential Technical Development Summer Internship with the US Green Building Council. (Deadline 3/16)
  • Stay in VT and develop experience in trail management, trail conservation, mapping, volunteer coordination, project implementation and landowner relations as the Outreach Intern at the non-profit Catamount Trail Association. (Deadline: 3/16)
  • La Reserva Forest Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to addressing global climate change through tropical reforestation and the conservation of tropical forests. Apply for one of three positions as: Data Research Intern, Graphic Designer/Mixed Media Intern, Social Media Intern. (Deadline: 3/16)
  • Awesome! Help preserve and protect New York’s backyard! Apply for this fantastic Internship with the Queens Park District at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation. (Deadline: 3/16)

  • Do hands-on restoration of natural areas damaged by Hurricane Sandy, support environmental education programs for New Yorkers of all ages, lead community engagement efforts and volunteer restoration projects, survey and map natural areas using GIS, and more as the NYC Parks Fellowship & Conservation Corps Program.   • Sun, March 16 4:00 to 5:30 pm Immigration Issues Session with immigration attorney Dyann DelVecchio (Seyfarth Shaw, LLP and Middlebury alumna) This session will focus on issues related to staying and/or working in the United States and is open to all class years.   • Mon, March 17, 12:30-1:30 pm Overland Travel Information Session Learn about this company that hires college students to lead summer biking, hiking, language, service, writing and field studies programs – both domestic and abroad – to students ages 11 to 19. (MBH 219)
  • Mon, March 17, 6:30-7:30pm Info Session for Fall Fellowships (British, Watson, Fulbright). Learn about post-graduate study, research, travel and teaching experiences abroad offered by these fellowships. They have different criteria for citizenship, GPA, and fields of study supported.   • Internship Funding applications are now online! If you find an unpaid summer internship, you can apply for funding through CCI to cover costs such as transportation, food, housing etc. Visit go/summer funding for full details. (Applications due: 4/6)
