Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  • Late-breaking FoodWorks position, researching and archiving a famous author’s works!  The intern will help organize and archive the Wendell Berry’s agricultural library, as well as his related hand written manuscripts, letters, and journals.  This position will be posted to MOJO soon!  Search “Wendell Berry” for this posting or “FoodWorks” to see other postings. (Deadline: 3/16)
  • Three great positions with the Northeast Organic Farming Association!  The Organic Garden Intern will plant, care for, and harvest food from the NOFA garden and coordinate activities; the Organic Certification Marketing Intern will work to geospatially locate certified organic farm fields in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties; and the  Direct Marketing Intern will promote farmers’ markets and CSAs statewide and organize the 2014 National Farmers’ Market Week events. What’s New in JOBS:

  • Here’s a full-time, short-term dream job!  Help support energy efficiency and sustainability efforts in the federal government as the Environmental Analyst (Entry-level) at Eastern Research Group, Inc. You’ll track and report energy and water data, maintain databases of building performance information, and write reports and outreach materials to promote green building achievements.   • Mon, March 10, 11:30 am-3:30 pm Peace Corps Info Table Peace Corps Drop-by hours for anyone interested in speaking with a Peace Corps recruiter and having questions answered about the application process. Feel free to bring a resume and see how your skills may fit into our program needs. You must be at least 18 years of age and a US Citizen to serve in Peace Corps. (McCullough Grille Foyer)
  • Mon, March 10, 4:30-5:30 pm From Italian Major to Media Storyteller: Career Conversation with Willa Kammerer ‘07.5 Come hear how this young alum who majored in Italian and minored in Environmental Studies, crafted a career as a multi-media storyteller, telling stories from around the world in video, narrative, and web pixels.   • Mon, March 10, 6-7 pm Peace Corps Information Session Come hear how development work is carried out in Peace Corps and how you can help empower leadership in the community in which you serve. (MBH 104)
  • Mon, March 10, 7-8:30 pm “Success Without Stress: Escaping the Cult of Overwork” with Cal Newport An increasing number of high-achieving college students find themselves trapped in a “cult of overwork” that urges them to do more, stay up later, and work harder. The result is stress and unhappiness. This talk offers an alternative: do less, but do what you do better. This simple strategy will not only make you more successful, it will also increase your enjoyment of college life. (Dana Auditorium)
  • Tues, March 11, 4-5 pm CFA Society of Vermont Info Session Please join us for an informal meeting with local investment professionals and members of the CFA Society of Vermont. The meeting will include:introduction to the CFA Charter, CFA Society of Vermont and the global CFA Institute, what industry experts are currently looking at in the markets and why and networking with local investment professionals for career advice and introductions for internships and job opportunities.   • Tues, March 11, 4:30-6 pm What Does an Arts Administrator Do? A presentation and Q&A for students considering careers in arts management with arts consultant Kim Konikow, who has worked in the arts as a presenter, arts manager, and administrator, and has held leadership positions at Dance USA, the Minnesota Dance Alliance, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.   • Tues, March 11, 6:30-7:30 pm Junior/Senior Premed Applicant Meeting Annual meeting for juniors, seniors, and alums planning to apply to medical or dental school this summer or in the future.
