The 2023 season is shaping up. It’s going to be another year chock full of high-priority projects addressing forest and water health, outdoor recreation, sustainable agriculture, and food access. Young adults can apply now for Member and Leader positions. Positions for high schoolers will be posted mid-February.
If you are looking for an outdoor seasonal position in 2023, we are confident we have something you’ll find rewarding, challenging, and fits your availability. Read on to see if we’re right!
Timeline
Positions begin as early as March 22, and vary in length from 4 weeks to 8 months.
VYCC Members and Leaders work and learn in small teams. They gain skills, make a real difference, and get paid. No prior experience needed. If you want to work and learn, and are ready to dig in with curiosity, this is the place for you. Applicants with specialized skills and prior experience are welcome! VYCC offers positions with a range of technical challenge, leadership responsibility, and compensation. Designed for growth: Members and Leaders can complete multiple seasons to build skills toward careers, accumulate AmeriCorps Education Awards and college credit, and earn industry-recognized credentials. Compensation includes wages and farm-fresh food. We provide tools and camping equipment; accommodations are provided for some positions. Gear, transportation assistance, and wellness services are available at no cost. |

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program
The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week summer program designed to provide undergraduates with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs, and the enhanced knowledge and skills to pursue such careers.
The program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need. The Program covers the costs for tuition, travel, housing, and two meals per day. It also provides a stipend of $3,300.
Applicants must be full-time undergraduates with at least sophomore status on the date of the application deadline. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. Must be a US citizen.

Resume Approvals and Winning a Flight!
- Have your resume approved and get started on an internship search with a Peer Career Advisor. Visit go/PCAs for drop-in hours and locations (closed during Winter break).
- Resume approvals for juniors studying abroad/off-campus: please send your resume to tmosehau@middlebury.edu and your resume will be assigned to a PCA.
- BONUS: All students have a chance to win a free flight by completing your Handshake profile and uploading your approved resume by February 23.

- Apply for CCI Internship funding by April 7. Must have secured an internship to apply.

All you have to do to enter is complete your Handshake profile and have your résumé reviewed and approved by a CCI Peer Career Advisor (PCA) – (go/PCAs for their drop in hours to have your résumé reviewed.) The earlier you complete your profile and have an approved résumé, the more chances you will have to win!

Law, Advocacy and Conflict Transformation fully funded trip to New York City over spring break
We are planning a great career exploration trip over spring break and I want to tell you a little about it. If you’re interested in law and advocacy and want to know more about conflict transformation, this could be the experience for you.
WHEN: March 19-24, 2023
WHERE: New York, NY
WHAT: A fully funded Student Trek for 10-12 students. Yes, we are paying for travel, food and lodging. You will be exposed to real-world professional experiences that will inform your career exploration and other post-graduate planning. The theme is Law, Advocacy, and Conflict Transformation.
Topics we might explore with the connection to conflict include human rights, free speech, mediation, immigration, voting rights, civil rights, and housing.
This will be an immersive “living and learning” experience organized around opportunities to visit alumni at many different kinds of organizations—legal aid, the courts, public interest law firms and others doing pro-bono work, nonprofits, and government agencies. We will also engage in daily reflection dinners with special guests. And I will be going on the trip with you.
