Management Leadership for Tomorrow’s Career Prep program provides Black, Latinx, and Native American college sophomores with personalized guidance, effective tools, and a powerful professional network to secure highly competitive internships and early career opportunities in all industries, including consulting, tech, finance, and more.
Career Prep is a rigorous, 18-month career development program for emerging leaders. Through the program, Fellows explore their strengths, passions, and interests in order to prepare and plan for successful careers. The Career Prep program includes:

Rights and Democracy J-term internship
Are you interested in the legislative process in Vermont? Do you want to help research and track policy?
Rights and Democracy is accepting applications for a Policy & Legislative Intern for Winter Term in 2023.
Rights & Democracy (RAD) is a member-led, people’s organization in Vermont and New Hampshire. Our mission is to shift the political landscape through electoral and community organizing to ensure that the values and needs of our communities guide the policies of our government. We are doing this by building a popular movement to advance human rights, dismantle economic inequality, racism, and sexism, and to build a real democracy.
RAD Interns are the front lines of our legislative work, and a vital part to the successful passage of progressive policies in Vermont. Interns are able to interact with other organizational advocates, RAD members, and legislators as we research, track, and pass legislation. This position will report to the Vermont Movement Politics Director. This position will be primarily remote, with possible in-person activities (not required).

Aaron currently serves as the Director of the New York City Council’s Oversight & Investigations Division, where he oversees investigations of New York City government agencies involving fraud, waste, abuse, and other important matters to the Council. Aaron grew up in Washington, DC, studied History and Art History at Midd, and went to law school at Northwestern University in Chicago. Aaron clerked for a US District Court Judge after law school, then worked at law firms including WilmerHale in DC and Troutman Sanders in New York, before serving as a Federal Prosecutor in the US Attorney’s Offices for the District of Columbia and New Jersey, and as a Senior Counsel in the Enforcement Department at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in New York. Before being appointed to the New York City Council, Aaron served as a Director in the Fraud Risk & Compliance practices at two global consulting firms. Aaron has also worked on several US presidential campaigns and in the White House, and he also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching an International Financial Crimes course at Fordham University School of Law in New York.
He’s on campus to lead the Jewish High Holidays services at Midd for the 30th consecutive year and is very generous to share his time with us.

NYC Office of Mayor J-term internship

The Mayor’s Office of Research and Media Analysis is responsible for monitoring media coverage of mayor Eric Adams, his policies and actions, and performing research in support of the mayor’s communications priorities.
About the Role
- Monitoring news sites and social media in real-time and disseminating breaking stories
- Transcribing the mayor’s remarks for public release
- Compiling early morning or evening press clippings
- Creating reports on broadcast news coverage
- Searching for relevant stories in television broadcasts, radio, traditional media outlets, and community papers
- Additional research projects in support of short and long-term communications needs

Legal J-term internship at MIIS with Middlebury General Counsel
One intern will have the chance to work day-to-day with Middlebury’s general counsel, located at the Middlebury Institute campus in Monterey California, during J-Term.
The intern will work closely with the general counsel and paralegal on projects such as policy review and revision relating to Open Expression, developing training materials relating to copyright, and creating guidance for student organizations on issues such as political activity and defamatory speech.
This internship will provide practical experience in how to review situations for legal issues, analyze risk, and develop educational and outreach materials.

Stanford Law School Research Fellowship
Assist faculty members at Stanford Law School conducting timely and policy-relevant research in empirical social science, including economists John J. Donohue and Daniel Kessler. Designed for graduating seniors or recent college or master’s program graduates, the fellowship provides a unique opportunity for those considering graduate school, law school, and/or business school in the future.
Prior Research Fellows have matriculated to Ph.D. programs at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, and NYU and law school at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and Columbia. They have been drawn from a variety of undergraduate disciplines, including economics, political science, applied math, public policy, statistics, and computer science.
