In its entirety the pre-WWI era posted a 103-89-3 record under the instruction of seven different coaches. Simeon Murch, a four-year coach from 1914-1917 saw the most success with a 38-21-2 record, but had his stent as the head coach at Middlebury College ended by the start of WWI. Other coaches in the era included: F.H. Bryant (1899-1906, 8 yrs, 26-32), “Si” Stackpole (1907, 1 yr, 4-5), Harold Fish (1908, 1 yr, 4-2), Richard Goode (1909, 1 yr, 3-3), Patrick Keefe (1910, 8-6), R.L. Fisher (1911-1913, 3 yrs, 20-20-1), and Simeon Murch (1914-1917, 38-21-2).
