Shirley ColyShirley Coly has joined the Office of Advancement in Monterey as the new Director of Development. Shirley brings nearly 20 years of experience in development, primarily in higher education. As a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Senegal), she has a special affinity for Middlebury Institute students and a deep understanding of our alumni and donors. Some of you may recall that Shirley previously served in the advancement office under Beth McDermott, working closely with a variety of campus constituents and colleagues in Vermont.

Shirley is an avid runner and is married to MIIS faculty member Edgard Coly. The Colys have three grown children. We are thrilled to have Shirley back, so please feel free to stop by McGowan 300 to give her a big MIIS welcome! And Shirley will be visiting the Vermont campus for several days in mid-September, so Vermont colleagues will have an opportunity to say hello as well.

Special thanks to the interview committee in a very competitive search: Meghan Rasmussen, Jami Black, and Eva Gudbergsdottir.
